Hide your women and children. If you are a woman or child, I’m sorry I am being sexist and ageist (is that a word?) but after you listen to this, I suspect you won’t care about those faults.

This week’s depressing show is here for your delight.
Pistons suck.
Celtics suck too.
Is it the All Star break yet?
That’s what I keep hearing in the Boston interverse. Yes I made up that mash up of internet and universe just now because living in reality is just too painful for Celtics and Pistons fans right now. Dave and I were at the Palace last night to witness what can only be called a pathetic outing by the Pistons. As the Celtics fan here, I’m not taking shots at Detroit, it was a totally lackluster, disinterested game from the Pistons. Wade only played the first and third quarters and was last seen sipping a Mai Tai under a beach umbrella receiving a massage about the time the Spare Tires took the floor. But, it’s just one game out of eighty two. Ben Gordon was back, 12 Pistons got some burn, Kwame Brown hit a free throw and some guy in our row won two separate prizes (pizza and some lottery ticket thing). Dave, however cried all the way home.
The Celtics played a better team, performed better but had the same result. A big fat “L”. I missed half the Pistons game while trying to follow the Boston/Atlanta game on my phone. Celtics were up, then down, then came back, then fell down, then….well anyone following the team lately knows the end of this story. Signs of strength then late fades. Us Celtics hopeful keep telling ourselves that this team is about the playoffs. Think of the regular season as extended practice and our preseason. 82 games to get our guys healthy in sync and ready to take on the NBA world in the post season. Work our rotations (and Doc did do that last night right up to the closing ticks of the loss) and put faith in the team and coaching staff. So what’s one more loss? What’s one game out of 82? What’s 15 out of 82? True they are not significant, but at some point they need to become significant. Part of winning is knowing you can. Does this team truly know it can win right now? Right now, I’d have to say no one in the interverse truly does know if this team can win. Right now. Tomorrow is another one out of eighty two.
A recap of the only game Dave can remember, Boston at Detroit.

Tayshaun Prince Pulling an Ewok on the Detroit Pistons’ Youth Movement
By Brian Spencer
Tayshaun Prince is to the Detroit Pistons what the ewoks were to Return of the Jedi.
Prince is and always has been a very capable plus player who fit in exceedingly well for his perenially contending Detroit Pistons teams. At a long 6-9, he does a little bit of everything: brings the ball up the floor in a pinch, hassles bigger players with his freakish wingspan, knocks down open shots, takes it to the hole, finds open teammates with pretty passes, and comes up with big plays on either end of the floor when his team needs it most.
